Wheat Can't Stand The Heat!

Wheat can't stand the heat! A lingering drought in the northern Plains has continued to wreak havoc on this year's Hard Red Spring Wheat crop. This variety, traded on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGE) has surged above the psychologically important $5 level this Summer. Yesterday's Weekly Crop Progress report showed further deterioration, with 27% of the crop in poor to very poor condition, which was an increase of 7% in the past week.
