Greenback Muted In Overnight Trading

The greenback was muted in mixed trading overnight, as traders waited for today's jobless claims report. The Labor Department reports a decline in the number of workers applying for benefits to 308,000 compared to last week's revised 328,000. Government data indicates continued robust employment conditions since the four-week moving average declined, however monetary tightening dominates Fed policy amid jitters about inflation sinking the economy.
