Stocks Topping Out?
Stocks topping out? That is the concern by some analysts and traders, as the stock market adjusts to the possibility of further interest rate increases by the Federal Reserve through the third quarter of 2006. The Federal Reserve has raised short-term rates 15 times since June of 2004, and rates currently stand at 4.75%. Earlier this month, traders were beginning to believe that the Fed would be close to an end of the tightening cycle, which should be positive for stock prices.
